From The Guys at the Garage -From 1994-1997 my partner and I had a parking garage on Carnegie Ave(name not important to story). Jim's parents parked with us at most of the games they came to here. Jim's parents were the greatest and most down to earth people you could ever meet. Jim's dad told us some stories about Jim when he was a kid, and like every other parent in the world, it showed how proud he was of how his son when he grew to manhood. His Dad thought it was the greatest thing in the world to sit around with a bunch of guys after the game on a Sunday, and have a beer while waiting for "Ma" and her friends to meet him at the garage.

Jim would sometimes come to the garage to meet his parents before they went to dinner, and naturally Jim would sign anything for anybody. We liked to close an hour after the game, but sometimes we waited a little longer for the kids at the garage just in case Jim stopped by.

It's hard to believe at a time when all the headlines scream about baseball strikes and work stoppages that a baseball player wants to go out and do his "JOB".

Jim has been good for Cleveland, the fans have been good to him . I hope this relationship can last, when Jimmy says it's time to quit I hope he goes out in an Indian uniform with the Chief smiling bigger than ever . Jim and baseball are as good a combination that ever existed, thank you Mr. &Mrs. Thome for lending Jim to us for a little while.

from Kelly S. I was working in the Archery Department at Cabelas in Mn when Jim came in and I was helping him. My boyfriend at the time (now my husband) had just gotten out of the minors and was also working at Cabelas. He saw who I was working with and pulled me to the side and said, "Do you know who that is?? It's Jim Thome!! You have to be really nice to him and treat him good!" Needless to say my husband is a huge fan. Jim ended up giving us tickets to the game the next night against the Twins and we had a blast!! He was very nice and kind. I met alot of famous people when I worked there from Garth Brooks to Brett Favre, and Jim was by far the nicest!!

From Kathleen I haveÊbeen a Jim Thome fan ever since Jim joined the Cleveland Indians.Ê I have been a Indians fan for a long time.Ê Jim isÊsuch a cool guy and a quiet person.Ê Does all his fans know that before every game, he eats sushi.Ê It is rice wrapped with seaweed and it has either sliced vegetables in the inside or the raw fish placed on top ofÊ the rice and seaweed.ÊÊEven though the Indians lossÊall theÊoffensive power, theyÊstill have offensive power in Jim Thome, Matt Lawton, and the other players.Ê With will, determination, and Jim Thome, the IndiansÊcan win another pennant.
