big jock weekend

Man, if my life was like this all the time, things would be perfect. I played five baseball and one softball game in the period of 48 hours in two different cities and won two championships. Sweet!

My summer league softball team, Game of Inches, won the SportsMonster Chicago Friday night 12-inch softball championship Friday night. We came back from 15-9 in the bottom of the fifth, scoring seven to go ahead by one. After a scoreless sixth and giving up three in the top of the seventh, we answered with three of our own in the bottom of the inning to win it all. I was the winning pitcher and was seriously on fire that night, only walking one.

I also played on the Chicago Storm, a women's baseball team in a wood bat tournament in South Bend. The championship game was held at Coveleski Stadium, home of the minor-league Silver Hawks.

I got a killer bruise on my ankle and my quads were on fire by the end of the weekend, but that did not deter me from having a great time. Unfortunately, the weekend was over too quickly and it was back to the old grind.
